On-Site Lawyer

If your First Nation or organization requires legal support to complete short-term projects or to identify and resolve multiple legal issues, our on-site lawyers placement may provide a cost-effective and practical solution.

Cedar Law offers on-site placement of one of our lawyers for a period of one week for a set fee.

Our lawyer will work with your Council, managers and staff to evaluate and resolve as many outstanding legal matters for you as time allows. They can assist in prioritizing and researching immediate concerns while developing longer-term strategies for ongoing issues. Cedar Law Workshops can also be delivered to your staff and Council members while on-site.

This service can be extremely cost-effective and useful for First Nations wishing to identify and evaluate several legal matters, complete specific projects quickly, and receive on-site capacity development training.

At present, on-site lawyer placement is only available three times a year on a first-come first-served basis. Placements are dependant on the results of a conflicts check
